Hola Everyone!
I hope things are well and you are enjoying our site. In my opinion in looking for a family vacation to Costa Rica there are a few must do’s in the country. If you have never been to Costa Rica consider this package. It is for those families that like a bit of adventure. This itin includes my personal favorite places of the country. I really enjoy the Arenal Volcano. Watching the lava come down its side time after time never gets old. The river rafting is what got me started in the whole touring gig and with the constant changing of water levels and beautiful scenery it never gets old.
As for the beaches without a doubt Dominical is the beach for me. The mountain meets the sea and being a East-Coast-Florida-grown-guy this was really something spectacular for me to see. Here you can raft a river, visit an enormous waterfall, and sit on the beach all in the same day. If I was taking my family this is probably the trip I would do but if it’s not for you don’t worry we will find something that fits. Best of luck in your search for a Costa Rica Family Vacation and Safe Travels!.
Day 1
Arrive and drive to Arenal (Arenal Resort)
The Arenal is the most famous volcano in Costa Rica. It is a perfectly cone-shaped volcano that is constantly erupting and at night it gives off a great show of lava roll down its side. Seeing lava run down the side of a volcano is not something you see every day or even ever. I have seen this volcano and its lava hundreds of times and it is still to this day one of the coolest things I have ever seen. (No Meals).
Day 2
Zipline and HotSprings
We will sleep in today till around 10 am and leave for a zipline tour that starts at 11:30am This is a great tour zipping from mountain top to mountain top with great views of the volcano and Arenal Lake. This tour is actually beyond great. There are more than 77 different zipline companies in the country and this is by far the best ride. After the zip we will go on a little hike and visit one of the country’s most famous waterfalls "La Catarata de La Fortuna". If you want to take a picture and use it for a postcard, this is the place. After this day of touring we will then get ready for the evening to go sit in the Tabacon HotSprings where we will also enjoy an all-you-can-eat buffet. Ok, so the lava on the volcano never gets old but neither do the desserts in this all-you-can-eat buffet. It is absolutely delicious. (Arenal Resort) (Meals: B & D).
Day 3
Raft Pacuare River
Today is my favorite day. National Geographic voted the Pacuare as one of the top five rivers to raft in the world. Because of its scenery and class IV rapids it makes for a great day. This is an all day trip. If you are traveling with children we will run a class II & III river. (Central Valley Hotel) (Meals: B & L).
Day 4
Poas Volcano Crater and La Paz Waterfalls
Today we will visit to largest active volcano crater in to world. This is called the Poas Crater and you can actually walk up the the top of it and look down into the crater. From here we will drive to the Vara Blanca Cloud Forest and visit the La Paz Waterfall Gardens. This is a walk through the cloud forest where you see a butterfly farm, hummingbirds, toucans, monkeys and five of Costa Rica’s most beautiful waterfalls. These two are must sees in Costa Rica. (Central Valley Hotel) (Meals: B & L).
Day 5
We’ll drive to the Pacific side
of the country and get close to the beach. But first we are going to practice our rappelling skills on a 210ft waterfall hidden in the rainforest. This is a true adrenaline rush and a great way to swing under a waterfall. One of the best secrets of my tour is where I take you to stay at the beach. A 6 bedroom Inn tucked away in the jungle with views of the rainforest, where you will sleep with you doors open and listen to the Toucans and Howler Monkeys and the sound of the ocean. (Beach Inn).
Day 6
Snorkel, Whale and Dolphin search
Today we will wake up and enjoy a private gourmet breakfast. We will then make the short drive and visit the Whale National Park where we will go on a boat ride and find the famous humpback whale. This is actually one of those whale trips that you actually see them. Then we will search for the bottle-nosed dolphin. After we snorkel around for a bit we will make our way back and hang out on the beach. (Beach Inn) (Meals: B).
Day 7
Relaxing day on the beach
We will have the option of grabbing some boogie or surfboards and soaking up some sun and enjoying the beautiful beaches of where the mountain meets the sea. (Meals: B).
